I bought one of these to quickly enable the PVR box and give it some freedom. The current kernels are not supporting it properly, here is what you have to do:
Find out your exact card by using lspci, one of the lines should reveal it:
01:0a.0 Network controller: RaLink RT2561/RT61 802.11g PCI
Download the relevant driver for the above chipset from here:
http://rt2x00.serialmonkey.com/wiki/index.php/Downloads
Install the tools required to build a new module:
apt-get install build-essential
apt-get install linux-headers-`uname -r`
Move to where you downloaded the new drivers and:
tar -xvzf rt61-cvs-daily.tar.gz
cd /rt61-CVS-[?]/Module
make
make install
depmod
modprobe rt61
Make sure it starts at boot:
echo 'rt61' >> /etc/modules
You should now be able to configure your card as normal!
apt-get install wireless-tools
check ‘ifconfig’ for the name of your device (in my case it was wlan0)
wlan0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:0e:2e:4e:67:2e
UP BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
RX bytes:0 (0.0 B) TX bytes:0 (0.0 B)
Bring it up:
ifconfig wlan0 up
Scan for networks:
iwlist wlan0 scan
wlan0 Scan completed :

You could now add the following to /etc/network/interfaces to bring it up with DHCP at boot
# wireless
auto wlan0
iface wlan0 inet dhcp
wireless-channel auto
wireless-essid satchwifi
#wireless-key open
#nameservers
